9/29/1981Delhi-Srinagar Indian Airlines Boeing 737 flight was diverted to Lahore, Pakistan by five Khalistan activists of the Dal Khalsa International. On board there were 117 passengers out of which 66 were freed on arrival in Lahore.
9/1/1921Madhav Krishnaji Mantri, right-hand batsman and wicket-keeper, was born at Nasik, Maharashtra. He was the Indian team selector from 1964 to 1968 and was also the team manager in 1990.
