Vishwanath Pratap Singh, Indian Prime Minister and Gorbachev sign joint declaration committing their countries to building a nuclear-free and non-violent world in the first Indian-Soviet summit in the post-Gorbachev Soviet Union in Moscow.

4/15/1946The Kangla Tongbi war memorial built for 221 members Advance Base Depot, who laid down their lives to repulse several waves of Japanese attacks, was erected near a village named Kangla Tongbi at Mile 8 on the Imphal - Dimapur road. It was originally erected from local stone and the main epitaph displayed above is of black Naga stone.
5/4/1783Tipu Sultan was enthroned as the ruler of Mysore after the death of Haider Ali in a simple ceremony at Bednur. He continued the Second Mysore War against the English.
