Both Congress and Muslim League refused Cripps Mission offer. Congress adopts Quit India Resolution. Cripps Commission came to India which was preceded by Sir Stephard Crips to find out a political formula for transfer of power to Indians.

12/31/1929At the Lahore session, under the Presidentship of Jawaharlal Nehru, the Congress adopted a resolution of 'Poorna Swaraj' (Complete Independence), the slogan given by Gandhiji. The tricolour flag of freedom was unfurled and 26th January 1930 was decided to be celebrated as Independence day every year. This session led to Civil Disobedience Movement, Dandi March to break the Salt Law, etc.

3/29/1849Maharaj Dulip Singh left the throne of Punjab that once belonged to his late father Ranjit Singh and was then occupied by the East India Company. The Britishers had captured it after defeating the Sikh Army at Amritsar.
2/17/1670Shivaji won SinghGarh Fort from Mughals. This victory was on the shoulders of Tanaji who was martyred in this attack. Shivaji proclaimed ""Garh Aalaa Pan Singh Gela"" which means that Fort was won but the Lion was lost.
