5/18/1966Panchanan Maheshwari, great Indian scientist of botany, passed away. He studied the morphology, anatomy and embryology of some angiosperms, the class of plants which produce flowers. He discovered species of plants like ""Panchanania Jaipuriensis and Isoeted Panchananil."" He wrote two authoritative books, 'An Introduction to the Embryology of Angiosperms' & 'Recent Advances in Embryology on Angiosperms'. In 1951, he founded the International Society of plant Morphologists.
5/20/1957Tanguturi Prakasam, great lawyer, journalist, nationalist, politician, social reformer, leader and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, passed away at Hyderabad.

7/6/1935Dalai Lama, the 14th incarnate and religious leader of Tibet, was born. He was born to Tenzin Gyotso (His Holiness the VIVth Dalai Lama) in Taksten Village, Chhija Nangso, Tibet. He was awarded with Nobel Prize for Peace in 1989.
11/25/1984Yashwantrao B. Chavhan, first Chief Minister of Maharashtra and former Deputy Prime Minister, passed away.
