12/8/1970	Army Ordnance Corps was awarded the 'Colours' by the Vice President of India, Shri G S Pathak, at AOC Centre, Secunderabad. The Ordnance colour is a scarlet silken flag with the Ordnance crest in the center and surrounding it is a wreath of Ashoka Leaves and Lotus flowers.
8/12/1997	Gulshan Kumar of Super Cassette Industries was shot dead by four unidentified persons in north-west Mumbai.
4/26/1973	Judge A.N. Ray became the Chief Justice of India. He helded this office till 28/01/1977.

4/29/1639	Delhi's Red fort construction commenced by laying the Foundation Stone by Shah Jahan. This fort was completed on May 13, 1646.
6/28/1972	Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis died. He was the first founder of Indian statistical Institute to receive world recognition. In 1958, he started his national sample surveys. A Sample survey means assessing a situation by studying a part of it which would represent the whole, some of his proposals were included in the second five year paln. His original work made him elected as fellow of the Royal society in 1945.
